Reserve 'Robert's Block' Syrah 2021

The Robert’s Block Syrah is named for Robert John Ritchie who planted the vines here at Delatite. It is sourced from Robert’s Block which contains our oldest Shiraz vines. It is only made in our best years.

·       The fruit was fermented in small open topped fermenters and was hand plunged three times a day before being pressed in our basket press

·       The wine spends 24 months in barrel. The barrel (only one) was a new French oak puncheon of 700L capacity.

·       The wine is bottled without the use of filtration to maximise the quality of the flavours but this will lead to a deposit of harmless crystals being left in the bottle.

·       Finally the wine was kept in bottle for 18 months to allow the wine time to rest and develop before being released
