The 2021 MansField Five red blend is a blend of:
43% Cabernet, 17% Shiraz, 17% Graciano, 13% Merlot and 10% MalbecÂ
They are all made separately and then blended together by winemaker, Andy Browning and owner, David Ritchie. The inspiration for this style of wine came from a trip to Spain and Portugal that David did in 2018. There he fell in love with the idea of making a wine that wholly represented the place that didn't fuss about what varieties it was made from.
In the last 10 years Delatite has made wine as naturally as possible. We use 100% wild yeast in all Estate wines and have no enzymes or fining agents and minimal Sulphur. Our Red wines are also unfiltered. This allows the wines to fully show the vineyard’s characteristics. The grapes are grown following biodynamic principles which doesn’t allow the use of artificial inputs; encouraging greater biodiversity in the vineyard.Â
*Fining agents are protein based compounds used to reduce the level of phenolics in the wine so it is vegan friendly.
