Reserve ‘Vivienne’s Block’ Riesling 2016

Rated 4.00 out of 5 based on 1 customer rating

Harvested from the original Riesling vines that were planted by Vivienne (and Robert) in 1968/69, the fruit for this wine was hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and fermented only with wild yeast to preserve the unique historical flavours of the fruit. This wine has been crafted with the bare minimum of winemaking manipulation to allow the fruit to shine out in this magnificent wine.
As with all of our Reserve and Estate wines the fruit was grown bio dynamically and winemaking practices are also fully biodynamic using only the natural wild yeast and not adding any enzymes or other artificial additives to the wine.
With a nose of perfumed blossom, particularly lavender the palate offers tight lemon and lime fruit flavor with chalky mineral characters. The finish of the wine is very long with clean acidity.

FOOD Enjoy it now in its youth with oysters or prawns.

Greetings. My name is Lisa de Vera, and I live in Wenatchee, WA. I am looking for a late harsevt reisling whitewine. I am currently drinking a late harsevt wine from Hermann Weimer winery New York. This particular wine has a 4.5% resid sugar and 9% alcohol. The primary reason I need this particular wine is because of the low acidity. I’m wondering if your 2007 late harsevt is also low in acidity. I would much rather purchase from a winery in WA State. Please give me the information you have on this particular wine. I normally buy a case at a time (but would need to try it first). There are many others here in Wenatchee also looking for low acid wines, and I would love to share this information if this wine works for us!

    Hi Ann,
we’re in Victoria, Australia so I don’t think we can help you with your desire for a late harvest riesling. Though we do make a couple of very good sweet whites, the freight would be a little prohibitive as we don’t currently sell our wines in the US. Our current sweet white wines are the 2012 Late harvest Riesling and the 2012 Catherine Gewurztraminer.
Apologies for the very tardy reply – only jsut starting to learn how to get around our website!
    regards, David
