Harvested from the original Riesling vines that were planted by Vivienne (and Robert) in 1968/69, the fruit for this wine was hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and fermented only with wild yeast to preserve the unique historical flavours of the fruit. This wine has been crafted with the bare minimum of winemaking manipulation to allow the fruit to shine out in this magnificent wine.
As with all of our Reserve and Estate wines the fruit was grown bio dynamically and winemaking practices are also fully biodynamic using only the natural wild yeast and not adding any enzymes or other artificial additives to the wine.
With a nose of perfumed blossom, particularly lavender the palate offers tight lemon and lime fruit flavor with chalky mineral characters. The finish of the wine is very long with clean acidity.
